1°) RESPECT OF THE ENVIRONMENT: OUR FIGHT

Most customers now choose wood for its building and decorating uses. Natural wood is the ideal material to create personalized parquet.

Tropical deforestation has a negative impact on forestry activity’s image that affects even the parquet business.

European forests, however, are in good health and keep on growing. The forest territory increases by 1 million Ares every year.

The PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification scheme) is committed to promoting forest management based on environmentally, socially beneficial and economically viable management of forests for present and future generations: this is sustainable development.

PEFC certification is not the only certification existing to protect our forests and our activity.

It is sad to think that only 10% of worldwide forests are protected zones. This is not enough. That’s why we must support every local action to ensure a strong and global ecological process.

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an independent and international organization consisting of a diverse group of representatives from environmental and social groups, the timber trade and the forestry profession, indigenous people's organizations, responsible corporations, community forestry groups and forest product certification organizations from around the world. Through consultative processes, it sets international standards for responsible forest management.

Forest management certification involves an inspection of the forest management unit by an independent FSC-accredited certification body to check that the forest complies with the internationally-agreed FSC Principles of Responsible Forest Management. If the forest complies with FSC standards, then the FSC accredited certification body issues a certificate for the operation. Certified forest operations can claim the forest products they produce come from a responsibly managed forest.

Most of the products Parquet Nature et Passion uses are PECF and FSC certified or come from countries that make their best to promote environmentally appropriate management of their forest such as Malaysia and its Malaysian label.
